About This Whole Thing

The Origin Story

Hi. I'm David Henderson. I work at Mend, where I spend my days helping behavioral health organizations do incredible things. I also spend my days eating candy like it's a competitive sport.

My boss, Geoff, wants to play pickleball at NatCon 2026 in Denver. And I am — how do I put this delicately — SO out of shape.

So I decided to do something about it. And because I'm a marketer who can't do anything quietly, I turned it into a whole campaign. With points. And a leaderboard. And a music video parody of "No Sleep Til Brooklyn." Because of course I did.

But here's the real thing: every single dollar raised goes to the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. That's the organization behind NatCon — the biggest conference in behavioral health. They do genuinely important work, and if me giving up Sour Patch Kids for a month helps fund it, then let's go.

About NatCon 2026

NatCon is the National Council for Mental Wellbeing's annual conference — the largest gathering of behavioral health professionals in the country.

April 27–29, 2026 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CO. Thousands of people who care about mental health, substance use, and community wellbeing, all in one place.

And apparently, pickleball.

About the National Council

The Fine Print

This is not sponsored by or officially affiliated with the National Council, NatCon, or Mend. This is just David being David.

This is not medical advice. Please consult your doctor before making dietary changes. (But also, you're just not eating Skittles. You'll be fine.)

The honor system is real. We're not installing sugar detectors in your kitchen. We trust you.

All donations are processed via Stripe and directed to the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.

The Music Video

Yeah, we made a music video. A parody of "No Sleep Til Brooklyn." Because of course we did.
